Traffic Accident Upgraded to Murder Investigation by Arlington Police

Arlington, Texas. July 10, 2017

The Arlington Police Department is investigating a homicide that was originally reported as a crash in the 2100 block of Lincoln Drive around 3 p.m. on July 9, 2017. Responding officers observed a vehicle that struck a small retaining wall after running over an embankment. Inside the vehicle was an unresponsive male with an apparent gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. 

Investigators are trying to determine the details of what occurred through collecting evidence, interviewing witnesses and canvassing the area. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the identification of the deceased once the next of kin is notified.
