Symphony Arlington Announces New General Manager

BY ARLINGTON WEEKLY STAFF

Arlington, Texas. June 20, 2017

Symphony Arlington is pleased to announce that Arlington native Kim Rocha has been named as their new General Manager.  Kim comes to Symphony Arlington with a long history working in area non-profits with a background focusing primarily in Marketing and Public Relations.  Kim stated, “I am so excited to join such a dynamic team of individuals focused on bringing music and culture to the growing Arlington community.”

Symphony Arlington credits much of its’ success to founder Maestro Robert Carter Austin.  Under his direction, Symphony Arlington launched a successful debut season in 2000 and has grown from the 200 seat Roberson Theatre at Tarrant County College to now, holding eight concerts each season at The Arlington Music Hall.  The 2017-2018 season, which will kick-off on October 19th, is entitled “Vienna, the City of Music” and will feature guest musicians from across the globe at seven of the concerts.

Symphony Arlington also makes music education a priority through KidsNotes, their Conversations with Music Tour, and their Young People’s Concert.  All programs are aimed to introduce children at a young age to the symphony and encourage them to learn an instrument.  Inquiries about Symphony Arlington’s outreach and education programs can be made to education@symphonyarlington.org.
