Fire Rescuers Recover Body at Lake Arlington

Arlington, Texas. June 17, 2017

The Arlington Fire Department reports that they have recovered the body of man that had been missing.  The man went underwater at Lake Arlington on Friday evening.  

Arlington Police that posted a message on twitter that they were search around the Bowman Springs Park.

UPDATE:  The Arlington Fire Department issued a statement, "At 19:57 on Friday, Arlington Fire, PD, and AMR were dispatched to a drowning at Bowman Springs Park on Lake Arlington."

"Units arrived on scene and were notified by friends of the victim that he was swimming off of the boat dock and went under about 30 feet to the south of the dock.   Arlington Fire/Rescue divers performed initial search patterns while Boat 7 was being launched to support the search with side-scan sonar.  APD closed the park and secured the scene. Lake Patrol assisted in the search. Sonar from Boat 7 located the victim and AFD divers recovered him at 21:27."

The victim was identified as 30-year-old James Pippins.
